Slide 1: Just a Thought on Revelation 15 (Part 4)
Dr. John Cook / General
Just a Thought on Revelation 15 / Prophecy; God’s Wrath / Revelation 15:5–8
Hello, I’m John Cook and I want to welcome you to John Cook Ministries. This is a ministry of helps in training for the ministry and in encouraging the study of God’s words, comparing scripture with scripture.
I saw a posting the other day someone saying I want to hear the voice of God. They are told to read God’s words. The reply was I want to hear God speak out loud, the reply read God’s words out loud. Could it be that simple? Yes, for the scriptures are the voice of God to man, you want to know what He has to say, READ IT!
Welcome to our continuing study on Just a Thought on Revelation 15, part 4.
Slide 2: Introduction
- Seven Vials
- Temple filled with smoke
Slide 3: Revelation 15:7 KJV 1900
And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
Slide 4: “one of the four beasts”
• which are before the throne of God:
Slide 5-8: Revelation 4:6–9 KJV 1900
And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
Slide 9: “gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials”
• First appearance of vials in Revelation:
Slide 10: Revelation 5:8 KJV 1900
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
• No prayers now, unless represents the answer to the prayers of the saints.
Slide 11: “full of the wrath of God, who liveth forever and ever”
• Man is about to experience the wrath of almighty God
• Man is going to receive the wages of sin:
Slide 12: Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
• Why? Because the refused the salvation offered:
Slide 13: 1 Thessalonians 1:10 KJV 1900
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
• Just think man’s in is against the eternal God requiring eternal punishment.
• Escape?
Slide 14: Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
• Don’t miss the escape!
Slide 15: Revelation 15:8 KJV 1900
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
Slide 16: “the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and his power”
• This takes place in OT:
Slide 17-18: Exodus 40:34–35 KJV 1900
Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
• Even so as Moses could not enter, so:
Slide 19: “no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled”
• None have access to plead the mercy of God.
• Justice shall rule, wrath without mercy!
• Today there is mercy as there was in Lot’s Day:
Slide 20: Genesis 19:16 KJV 1900
And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
• Salvation is available today:
Slide 21: 2 Corinthians 6:2 KJV 1900
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
• The question to consider:
Slide 22: Hebrews 2:3 KJV 1900
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
• Answer without Christ there is no escape:
Slide 23: Revelation 14:10 KJV 1900
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Slide 24: Conclusion
• Get saved now or lose it all then!
